About Us

Historical Background

Following centuries of spiritual darkness and misunderstanding, the Arya Samaj was founded by the visionary reformer Maharshi Dayanand Saraswati. His mission was to dispel misconceptions about the Vedic faith and reawaken the timeless truths of the Vedas.

His call for a return to Vedic principles sparked a spiritual revolution, empowering the Aryan community worldwide. However, this resurgence met resistance from irrational groups, leading to conspiracies and the tragic assassinations of key leaders like Pandit Lekhram and Swami Shraddhanand.

The assassination of Swami Shraddhanand on December 23, 1926, became a turning point. The community united in protest, culminating in the first Arya Mahasammelan in 1927 under Mahatma Hansraj.

Global Expansion

Over the past 150 years, Arya Samaj has expanded to countries including the USA, Canada, Guyana, Suriname, Trinidad, the UK, the Netherlands, Kenya, South Africa, Australia, and many more.

To unify the global Arya Samaj, a resolution in 2006 called for annual International Arya Mahasammelans. Events have since been held in:

  • USA (Chicago) – 2007
  • Mauritius – 2008
  • Suriname – 2009

Guided by the mantra “Krinvanto Vishvam Aryam” – Let us make the world noble – the IAMS empowers global Arya Samaj members to collaborate, share ideas, and innovate to further the Vedic mission.

By embracing modern technology, the IAMS helps individuals and communities propagate the values of Arya Samaj in today’s evolving world, fostering unity and nobility in service of humanity.
